Joel H McGahen OD
Dr. Joel McGahen started his practice in Franklin County in 1987. He provides family vision care from babies to geriatrics. A full scope practice that offers medical care from eye emergencies to eye diseases such as glaucoma management and comprehensive diabetic care. He especially loves helping Low Vision patients by helping them achieve functional vision to maintain their lifestyles. Dr. McGahen obtained a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Penn State University in 1981 then went on to receive his Bachelors of Science and Doctorate of Optometry from Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1986. Dr. McGahen has served on numerous mission trips to Romania, Alaska, and the Dominican Republic. He recently received a letter of recognition from Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services that recognized his high qualityhigh value care and improving patients’ experiences. Dr. McGahen when not found in the office will be enjoying the outdoors. An avid hunter, fisherman and gardener he loves raising his chickens, cows and his 4 dogs. He and wife, Kelly have just celebrated their 35-wedding anniversary and have 4 children and a perfect grandson, Noah.
Jackie JonesBoard Certified Optician (ABO)
Jackie has 30 years of experience in the Optical field. She has been employed at Joel H McGahen OD‘s for the last 15 years and is an expert in the latest lens technology, from Digital lens designs to blue light blocking lenses. Her vast years of knowledge from both the manufacturing and fabrication side and a thorough understanding of optics, Jackie can assure you a perfect fitting frame every time. Connie WislerOptometric Technician/Care Coordinator
If you’re a diabetic or experiencing medical issues, Connie is the one you will be seeing. She has been with Joel H McGahen OD since 1995 and has been trained all areas of Joel H McGahen OD‘s office. She started her career as a receptionist then cross trained to become an optician. In her current position Connie is Dr. McGahen’s right hand, handling all testing procedures and communicating with your family doctor and specialist.
Marsha MillerOptometric Technician
Graduate Central Pennsylvania College in AA Applied Science
Marsh is another long timer to Joel H McGahen OD‘s office and has been serving in the capacity of a dispensing optician and technician for the last 16 years. A graduate of Central Pennsylvania College, Marsha received her training in Optometric Technician program.From adjusting and dispensing glasses to helping our patients with Visual Field Testing and Retinal Scans, you will find Marsha multitasking in the many facets at the office. Marsha is also a busy mother of 4 children.
Kelly Gray McGahenGeneral Manager/Insurance Billing
Graduate BCCC, AA Small Business Administration
Having worked alongside of Dr. Joel H. McGahen since the beginning in 1987, Kelly brings years of experience to the practice.
