U.S. Army Air Corps Colonel John A. Macready sought help from one of the largest eye health product companies, Bausch and Lomb, to create customized sunglasses for air navigators in 1929. The product was an aviator type of sunglasses with green lenses and plastic frames. Popularly known as the “Anti-Glare, ” it can cut glare without compromising the wearer’s vision.
